Introduction

Past: The Early Years

I was born in Huntington, West Virginia in December of 1988. I spent the first seven years of my life living in Hurricane, West Virginia, where I attended Hurricane Town Elementary School. Halfway through second grade my family moved to the village of South Point, Ohio and I transitioned to the elementary school with the same name. We lived in a modest house within walking distance of all three school buildings within the district. Most of my childhood was spent at the ballfield, in the backyard, or exploring the neighborhood on my bike with my best friend and our brothers.

Past: The High School Years

I attended South Point High School from 2004-2007. I was a member of Mu Alpha Theta, Spanish club, Sunrise club, student government, and National Honor Society. I played volleyball and softball while maintaining a 3.5 or above GPA for the duration of my high school years.

Past: College

Upon graduating High School I enrolled at Ohio University Southern in Ironton, Ohio and received my first job at Stewart’s Original Hot Dogs in Ashland, Kentucky. I went to school for two semesters and decided to delay any further progress until I knew what I wanted to do as I was financially responsible for schooling. I continued to work at Stewarts and became the Assistant Store Manager for the Ashland location before transferring to the 1st Street location in Huntington, West Virginia where I remained until my resignation in 2011.

Present: Rubberlite and College (Round #2)

I left my job at Stewarts seeking more stability with my schedule and hopeful career advancement and was employed at Rubberlite on Valentine’s Day 2011. I was hired as a machine operator in the Finished Goods department where I worked for 9 months before applying for an internal position in the Customer Service department as an Order Entry Clerk. I spent the next several years learning everything I could and accepting new opportunities as they were offered or became available. I currently work as the Customer Service Manager and recently celebrated 15 years of service with Rubberlite. In 2023, I enrolled in the School of Business at Marshall University to pursue a bachelor’s degree in business administration management. I will graduate in May of 2026, and plan to use my degree to further my career at Rubberlite.
